How to Build a Quality Email Marketing List That Buys

I'm sure you have heard the phrase quality, not quantity. This same concept holds true for internet marketing. What good is a list of thousands of freebee seekers? It is far more profitable to pursue a list of three hundred emails that have a 60% conversion rate. Many marketers lose this perspective when building a list and they simply go for quantity. I am going to show you how to build a list of high quality, serious customers who respond to your email marketing by buying from you again and again. First, remember you need to use an opt-in form to build your email marketing list. An opt-in form is just what it sounds like. It is generally a pop-up that says something like "Sign up for my newsletter, and you'll receive a free whatever". The prospect enters his or her email and name, and presto. You have a new subscriber. The reason this is so great is because the person who signs up is basically saying, "Yes, I'm interested in what you offer... send me more info!" This is like a pre-qualified buyer-exactly what you want. If you rent a list, or get emails from some another source this is verging on spam. If someone even suspects that you're spamming them, you will be put on their blackball list and possibly be turned into the spam police. You do not want to be blackballed! Always use the opt-in or double opt-in list building technique. This will guarantee a quality list of pre-qualified buyers. Secondly, you should build niche-targeted lists. Your list should always be niche specific. If this means you have 10 different lists, then so be it. This allows you to give your readers exactly what they're interested in. If your opt-in form says something like, "Sign up and receive a special report on gardening", then you know that those people are interested in gardening products and services. If you were to send them offers for dog training, your response would be minimal at best. Sending people what they want is the first step in getting them to buy. Send them what isn't on their minds and they won't give your message a second thought. Keeping these two points in mind, your email marking list  ett efforts will not be in vain. Together with the opt-in form and tightly targeted niche marketing, you will have a list of highly interested, pre-qualified customers who order from you repeatedly.
